Helping children in Glasgow learn vital life skills
Building confidence in Glasgow's young swimmers
Thousands of people across Glasgow take part in our Learn to Swim programme.
The sessions take youngsters from their first steps in the pool through to being ready to join a swimming club.
Expert coaches help children of different ages learn in a safe and supportive environment.
Having fun while gaining a valuable skill
Learn to Swim is delivered in partnership with Scottish Swimming. The aim is to help children of all abilities become confident swimmers.
In total, 3,834 participants take part in the programme across the city at seven Glasgow Life pools. They range from pre-school beginners to more advanced swimmers.
Sessions introduce youngsters to the water in a fun way. They'll learn basic movements, skills and how to stay safe in the water.
As they progress, they're taught advanced stroke technique, diving and lifesaving skills.
Improving lives
William and Siobhan tell us how the programme has had a positive impact on their children.
Encouraging a love of swimming
Coach Rebecca and a couple of young swimmers tell us why they enjoy Learn to Swim sessions.
When I went on holiday and I never knew how to swim it was a bit harder cause the pool was deeper. But I know how to swim, and it's really easy for me. Even if it's deep, I can still swim in it.
