Equalities Monitoring Survey FAQ
Why are Glasgow Life doing the survey, and why should I complete it?
We want everyone to feel included and supported at work. To do this, we need to understand who our colleagues are and what their needs are. This survey will help us collect important information to improve things for everyone. This work is part of the delivery of our Equalities, Diversity & Inclusion Strategy.
Will it really be anonymous?
Yes! All answers are completely anonymous. There is no way for the survey data to be linked to an individual. It is also separate to MyPortal or SAP. You can also choose ‘prefer not to say’ as your answer to any questions. We will make sure that when we share the results, no individual can be identified in any way.
What will Glasgow Life do with the data?
One person in the Business Improvement Team will view and analyse the data. They will produce a breakdown of Glasgow Life’s colleague demographics. Once this analysis has been completed, all data will be deleted. The analysis will be shared with colleagues through our internal communications.
How long will it take to complete?
The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete.
Is this a one-off?
No. We will repeat the Equalities Monitoring Survey each Spring. This allows us to compare our year-on-year data to evidence progress and measure change. Each year, the data will be deleted after the analysis.
What grade/service area should I select if I have multiple jobs?
You should select the grade/service area where you typically work the most hours. However, you can choose ‘prefer not to say’ if you do not wish to share this information.
Will my manager or colleagues have access to my answers?
No. Your answers are completely anonymous. The only person who will have access to the survey answers is an analyst in the Business Improvement Team. They will use the data to capture the demographics of Glasgow Life’s colleagues.
Do I have to complete the survey?
The survey is completely optional. It is your choice whether to complete it or not. If you don’t want to participate, please tell us by selecting No for the first question, ‘Are you happy to participate in the survey?’
If I have a question, who can I contact?
Please contact your manager if you have any questions. Alternatively, you can contact the EDI team at equalities@glasgowlife.org.uk.
Do I have to answer all the questions, or can I choose what to answer?
All questions are optional and have a ‘prefer not to say’ option. You can answer as many questions as you wish.
Is there a paper copy to complete instead of online?
Yes. Please get in touch with internalcommunications@glasgowlife.org.uk if you want a paper copy or require an alternative format.
