The 2024 Merchant City Festival in Glasgow attracted 35,000 visitors from July 19-21. The theme of "Fair:Play" celebrated Glasgow's Fair Fortnight and brought our vibrant community together. Festivalgoers flocked to the much-loved food stalls and craft, farmers' and gift markets throughout the weekend.

A diverse array of street arts, dance, and musical performances from Surge Festival took to the streets, as family days - co-commissioned with Imaginate and Edinburgh Children's Festival - were enjoyed by kids big and small. Events were held in various locations, including Merchant Square and The Social Hub, who also generously supported the event as sponsors.

The evening programme saw music and comedy entertain the masses with a night of Celtic Connections, a Pride celebration and Rock n Roll performers. Hip Replacement's community disco night took over the Old Fruitmarket whilst Big Angie had audiences in hysterics.

The festival was praised for its vibrant atmosphere, contributing to its reputation as a key cultural event in Glasgow. Your participation, energy, and creativity truly made this festival unforgettable. We couldn't have done it without you.
