Flu Vaccinations 2024

We are again pleased to offer the opportunity for all Glasgow Life colleagues to participate in the Flu Vaccination Programme for Autumn/Winter 2024.

You will be able to participate by requesting a voucher.

Who is eligible to participate in this programme?

All Glasgow Life colleagues can participate in this programme.  However, some people are entitled to a vaccination through the NHS.  People who can get the NHS vaccine are:

  • those aged 65 years and over (including those who are 64 but will be 65 on or before 31 March 2025)
  • those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups
  • those in long-stay residential care homes and other long-stay care facilities where rapid spread is likely to follow introduction of infection and cause high morbidity and mortality (this does not include, for example, prisons, young offender institutions, university halls of residence)
  • carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
  • close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
  • frontline workers in a social care setting without employer led occupational health schemes including those working for:
    • a registered residential care or nursing home
    • registered domiciliary care providers
    • voluntary managed hospice providers
    • those that are employed by those who receive direct payments (personal budgets) or Personal Health Budgets, such as Personal Assistants

If you belong to one of these groups, we would ask that you access your vaccination through the NHS to enable as many colleagues as possible to get their vaccine. There will be information on the NHS Inform website (link below) on how to book your appointment with the NHS.

To request your voucher, please email fluvaccination@glasgowlife.org.uk with the following information:

List of participating stores

What if there are no vouchers left?

We only have a limited number of vouchers available so please only request a voucher if you are certain that you will use it.

The vouchers will be released in two batches in order to let colleagues on leave access a voucher. When the first batch is released, there will be no waiting list once all the vouchers have been allocated. The second batch will be released two weeks later. If you did not get a voucher in the first batch, this will be your opportunity to send another request. Once all the vouchers in the second batch have been allocated, a waiting list will be established so that returned vouchers can be re-allocated.
