Featuring music by Liam Shortall, Anoushka Nanguy, Helena Kay, kitti, Ewan Hastie, Matt Carmichael, Fergus McCreadie, and KARMA. Following the resounding success of the inaugural Nu•Age Sounds tour in 2024, the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra further broadens its horizons with specially commissioned music from eight of Scottish jazz’s exciting young stars.

All distinguished, award-winning composers, their music promises to take audiences on a thrillingly innovative journey that harnesses the transformative power of a live big band.

This suite reflects our solar system’s awe-inspiring majesty, giving each planet its distinctive personality and addressing Earth’s contemporary concerns as video projections convey the atmospheric imagery connecting the solar and space experience.

Restoration fund

From 1 September 2024, for any new events going on sale at our Concert Halls venues (Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, City Halls and Old Fruitmarket and Kelvingrove Bandstand), a new Restoration Fund of £1.50 per ticket may be added at checkout. Accessible toilets

There are accessible toilets located to the right of the entrance to the auditorium on the ground floor and on the balcony adjacent to the Candleriggs Bar.

Assistance dogs

Guide and assistance dogs are welcome and are allowed in the auditorium.

Wheelchair access

Lift access to all floors. 

There are designated spaces for wheelchair users. A companion is welcome to sit with you. 

There is a wheelchair to borrow. To borrow a wheelchair, please ask a member of staff.

Baby changing

There is a baby changing unit within the accessible toilet located to the right of the entrance to the auditorium on the ground floor.

Cloakroom

The cloakroom is located on the 1st floor next to the toilets. There is a £1 charge (only open for events or where a client has requested the facility)

Parking

On street, metered parking and nearby multi-storey

Free wifi

There is free public Wifi access. To connect, visitors have to register with the Old Fruitmarket Public Wifi which should pop up on their browser. After that visitors will only need their password for future uses.
