Field Music’s upcoming album Limits of Language, set for release on October 11th, marks their first new music in nearly four years. After concluding their 2022 tour for Flat White Moon, brothers Peter and David Brewis, who have led the band since 2005, faced uncertainty about their next steps. Rather than follow a set plan, they decided to pursue whatever inspired them most in the moment, resulting in both solo projects and new material for Field Music. 

Peter’s contributions blend synthesised textures, guitar riffs, and found-sound percussion, drawing influence from Brian Eno’s exploratory style. David’s songs, while from a different angle, share a similar sonic palette, with themes balancing nostalgia and anxiety. Their single “Six Weeks, Nine Wells” captures this contrast, blending childhood memories with adult unease. As they approach their 20th anniversary in 2025, Field Music remains dedicated to making music on their own terms, regardless of external pressures.

Restoration fund
