Annual Art Competition
Glasgow Life Museums Annual Art Competition for children was first established in 1904 and continues to this day.
Judging for the 2024 competition took place at the start of June. Medal winners were chosen in each of the five age categories. A gallery of the medal-winning artworks can be viewed in our online galleries.
Next year’s competition will be open for entries early Spring 2025. More details and conditions of entry will be added to this page nearer the time.
How does the competition work?
Children aged 3-18 are eligible to take part and can visit one of our museum venues to paint or draw something on display.
Drawings must be done in-situ within one of our museum venues. Entries drawn in class or at home will not be judged.
The five age categories are nursery; P1-3; P4-7; S1-3 and S4-6.
Works must be produced by the child themselves. No adult-child collaborations please!
Drawings should be done on paper, sized A2 or smaller. Pastels, pencils or water-based paints can be used, however it's pencil only at the Burrell Collection.
Unfortunately non-winning artworks cannot be returned.
