The Glasgow Life Community Assets team, in collaboration with the Bellcraig Advisory Committee in Summerston, hosted an unforgettable four-week holiday programme in July that left children and families beaming with joy.

Twenty children aged from 5 to 12 years attended daily sessions where they took part in arts and crafts, inflatable fun, face painting, and an assortment of games and sports from relay races to football matches. The dedicated volunteers made sure that every child had a chance to enjoy the activities, stay active and make new friends.

On Friday 26 July the centre hosted a Family Funday, with 40 children taking part. The bouncy castles were a massive hit and the Song and Dance Factory entertained with lively performances, encouraging everyone to sing along and show off their dance moves. Animal Man was also there, providing a unique opportunity to learn about some unusual creatures, as well as an animal handling experience.

The success of the Bellcraig Community Centre Summer Holiday Programme demonstrates the positive impact of community-driven initiatives which enrich the lives of residents. The volunteers are pictured with Glasgow Life colleagues.
